Michael Baddeley
Hi, I was wondering if there was any way to use synergy over a serial connection? I'm currently in a situation where I am not able to open up ports on the firewall in order to allow the synergy connection over the network. However, I was thinking that with a USB-2-USB connection between the two machines it should be possible to connect them that way. Has this been done before? Does anyone have any experience of this? Lee M Wiscovitch
Not sure about serial, but in my office I have my MacBook connecting to my desktop (Ubuntu) using a Thunderbolt2Ethernet adapter on the MacBook and a USB2Ethernet adapter on the desktop. Then it's just a cross-over cable between them. You will need to configure the TCP/IP settings for the adapters, but it's pretty trivial stuff. And probably waaaaay more usable than serial
