Auto config on client not working

I have Synergy 1.7.4. Server: Win8.1 Client: OSX 10.10.5 When the client starts, it fails to connect. The error is that it requires a Server IP address. However, Auto config is selected and should not require an IP address for the server. In troubleshooting this, I have found that after inputting the server IP address and starting it will connect fine. Then, I can update the client config to Auto config and apply, then the client restarts and will connect without the IP address. Issue here is when the client is restarted, the process starts all over again... the client needs an IP address. My server is using DHCP so the IP address can change daily. How can this issue be resolved? Thanks.
