Andy Thompson Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I found this thread, but this doesn't describe the same issue I am having : https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... sGjkYAWjag I haven't tested this in anything other than Ubuntu 14.04, but here is the issue. When copying anything other than unformatted plain text from the Firefox browser (v37.0.2) and pasting to a Pidgin (v2.10.9) chat window, only the first character is pasted, almost always a "<" This happens both directions, server to client and client to server. It does not happen if you copy/paste on the same machine, only from machine to machine. This also does not happen when coping out of Chrome or any other application, only Firefox. I am using the same version of Firefox on the server and client. I also tried starting Firefox in "Safe Mode" with no addons started and it still did the same thing. I just upgraded Synergy to version v1.7.1 (Basic) and the issue persists. To replicate: Open any search with Google in Firefox, copy some text and try and paste it into Pidgin on the other computer. To verify: Open https://wordpress.org/plugins/about/readme.txt Copy/Paste works fine with this because the text has no formatting.
Jenel Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Andy, You can try using a newer version of Synergy, as they have made a lot of clipboard changes. Here is the link to the newest beta http://synergy-project.org/nightly?filter=1.7.6 I have found evidence that clipboard assisting tools sometimes produce issues similar to this. See this link -https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/7869 Otherwise, you can try performing your task without the use of any clipboard assistance tools. -Jenel
