Doesn't support proxy settings

Hi there,

I purchased synergy last week in the hope to share my mouse and keyboard between my linux and windows host. Sadly, synergy doesn't support proxy settings (I did purchased it for my office).

How can I get a refund please ?

We're really close to adding proxy support and have an update coming out imminently (2.0.10). Would you mind waiting a few days, or would you like to go ahead with the refund?

Also, I don't get why a proxy would be needed for devices on the same lan...

What do you mean? Could you let me know where you saw this?

Cloud-based handshake works better than zeroconf (which is blocked on many networks).

For when is it planned to be released then ?

Ah, I probably shouldn’t have said that. It was planned in that release, but it was pushed back to now due to more urgent issues coming up.

We are testing Windows proxy support internally and we plan to have it ready for public use within the next few days. This is unlikely to change as the test results have been positive so far. Mac and Linux proxy support will follow shortly.

Update: Ah bugger, I re-read your message and see that you’re on Linux (as well as Windows). Well, at least you can test on Windows. If it’s still not working on Linux, you can either use Synergy 1 (manual config) or get a refund. In either case, would you mind contacting customer service? https://symless.com/contact

How do you want me to test it on a single host ?

Synergy 1 is buggy on linux for some reason, it does sometimes crash.

I will contact the customer service.

Thanks

Perhaps the message failed? Could you try to share them again? I need to see the log links for all computers.

I've updated to 2.0.10, but not sure to to set the http proxy settings. There is no settings menu

It's automatic. Could you send me your log links?

What problem are you trying to solve with manual proxy settings? Please, could you share your log links?

I don't get how do you expect proxy settings to be 'automatic'. Some proxies configurations might need credentials, some infrastructures might also have multiple proxies.

A manual configuration is obviously needed here.

Side note: I asked the support to have both invoice and refurb bill but still have no answer ..

Good call. We will be adding manual proxy options, as well as manual local IP options too. Can't say when right now, but we do plan to do this.
