Across different networks

It is sometimes frustrating not being able to use Synergy when working at a customer's facility on one of their desktop with my own laptop next to it; desktop on the customer network (internet access through proxy) and laptop on a "guest" network with direct internet access.

Don't know if it's in the scope of Synergy, but it would be a great feature if it could work across different networks.
