Try this:

With your cursor over the Synergy program display that you want to be the server, press F12.

Let us know how that works.

Click on "Sharing from this device", then right click the blue background and click on "Send Log". It should give you a link. Give that to us.

Additionally, take some screenshots of the UI before and after clicking including pressing the tilde (~) key to let us see the log.

The issue seems to be resolved. I posted the log anyway because the connection sometimes fails unexpectedly.

I'm having similar problems.
I can *sometimes* get my windows pc to be a client of my mac, but anytime I try the opposite (which is the configuration I need) it loops stating the route is missing

Has anyone found a fix or workaround for this?

So after some troubleshooting I found a way around this issue. to have the MAC be the server I restarted both computers but let the MAC start the synergy process first then the windows 10 PC, so far seems to work but it is not in that order I cannot make the MAC the server.

I updated my Mac OS to 10.13.1 from 10.12.x, and it started working fine, I can change who the server is by right clicking on the monitor i want as the server.
