Synergy install picks up applications with keywords that, "need to be updated"

I had an mspaint file with the saved file name of, "beta5" and Synergy installed said that it needed to be closed to be updated:

Try rebooting. There's a DLL hooked into Paint.

I also get this kind of notice with Windows Sticky Notes and Chrome even. Thought it odd, but knowing that there is a DLL hook into this, makes perfect sense. Did not need to even restart, simply close out Chrome and Sticky Notes temporarily and worked beautifully.

The DLL actually hooks into everything. This is showing because the core process is crashing on exit, which doesn't cleanly release the DLL.
