How secure is V2?

I noticed we're using websockets here, and using the internet to login and presumably transfer data. Just wondering what the security of this is compared to LAN-only like how V1 is doing it...

Concerned about keypress snooping and hijacking.

The only thing that the Synergy cloud is used for is validating logins and essentially, peer discovery. Local IP addresses are sent and other information that allows the cloud to be a temporary middle man in starting a connection on the LAN using the user agents on the system.

On my systems, security will probably be improved. I never bothered with making Synergy connections secure. If I understand correctly, the cloud server reads the credentials of both systems and makes the connection secure.
