Trouble configuring Client. - "Watchdog status:error"

Server computer uses a Ethernet cable, while my client computer uses wi-fi on the same network. Both 64 bit, windows 10.

> Tried auto-config on the CLIENT but it would try to install Bonjour before closing. Tried again but it stopped responding. 

> Manually installed Bonjour and reinstalled Synergy (pro version) but now when I click auto-config nothing happens. 

> Tried manually putting in our internets Server IP but that created errors. (Not sure if we did this wrong?)

> When booting up Synergy, the first line in the log says

"INFO: watchdog status: error" 

not sure if this could be the root of the problem?
