Warning Failed Connect to server: Timed out

My client computer is not connecting to the server it keeps on notifying me saying "warning: failed to connect server", I have no idea how to go about solving this problem, not only so Synergy stops working when i select auto-config. What does one do?

Client Computer:
-Windows 8
- 64 bit operating system

Server:
-Windows 8
-64 bit operating system
