Settings and configuration resetting

I have a synergy basic license. I use synergy on 2 Ubuntu computers. From time to time both of them have the same issue. When synergy starts it looses all settings and acts as if it is a fresh install. I have to reenter my serial key and reconfigure. I can not find any pattern to the resetting of settings. Sometimes the client will do it, sometimes, the server will do it, sometimes both do it, and other times everything is fine. 

Server:

OS: 64 bit Ubuntu 17.04

Synergy version: 1.8.8-stable-25a8cb2

Connected via ethernet

 

Client:

OS: 64 bit Ubuntu 17.04

Synergy version: 1.8.8-stable-25a8cb2

Connected via wifi

Have you tried to re-install Synergy @xiphoid24?

Yes on both machines I have fully uninstalled, reinstalled, then re-setup.

I see. Can you try v1.9? You can get it from Download Synergy 1.9-rc3 (Fixes the macOS WiFi lag bug) forums thread.

I will update and let you know if it happens again. Sometimes it takes awhile before it comes up again. Thanks

Okay @xiphoid24. Let us know when it acts out again on you. We'd love to know why it's doing that.

I'm getting the same thing with Synergy pro 1.8.8 on Ubuntu 18.04. The windows installations (1.8.8 and 1.10.0) don't do it.  I'm running 1.8.8 because 1.10.0 does not want to play under Ubuntu 18.04. I suspect it only happens when I RESTART the PC. If I do a cold boot (i.e shutdown and start back up) I don't think I get it. I'll do some more testing and see.
