Dean Landon
I have a 4 monitor setup. 3 monitors are connected to my Mac Pro and I have a 4th monitor (an iMac 5K), which is the slave. When I quit either Pro Tools or Studio One and drag the cursor between the main display (in front of me), and the slave display (iMac 5k), the application on the slave display crashes. This is 100% reproducible. Again, as soon as the cursor crosses screens, the crash occurs. Does this tell you anything? Thank you! Dean Landon
I should mention that the iMac is connected to the Mac Pro by way of an ethernet cable. I'm running Synergy via an IP address and not WiFi.
Paul Suarez
Hi @Dean Landon. Please provide more details about your machines (OS, 32/64 bit, Synergy version installed, connected to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, specify which one is the server). Also, post a screenshot of both machine's Synergy interface and the Server Configuration interface on your server machine.
Dean Landon
Hey Paul, Well regarding Synergy, I'm trying out the 1.9.0-rc3. I'm running macOS 10.12.5 on both Mac's at 64bit. The Mac Pro is connected via wire and the iMac via WiFi, but as stipulated above, the iMac is connected to the Mac Pro via ethernet cable and using an IP address. Thanks! Paul Suarez
Which of the 2 networks is for Wi-Fi? Is it the 192.168.0.x or the 192.168.1.x? You can verify that by unplugging the Ethernet cable on one of the machines first and check what IP address stays.
Dean Landon
Paul, when I go to my iMac's Network in the System Pref's, the IP Address is: 192.168.0.2. On the Mac Pro: 192.168.0.1 The WiFi on the iMac is usually off, cause I have it connected to the Mac Pro via wire. But when the WiFi is ON, the IP is: 192.168.1.11 On the Mac Pro: 192.168.1.10 Is this what you wanted? Thanks!
Paul Suarez
2 hours ago, Dean Landon said: The WiFi on the iMac is usually off, cause I have it connected to the Mac Pro via wire. This might not be accurate since most of the newly built network interface cards (NICs) can handle both wireless and wired connected at the same time. Thus, might be a source of confusion issues on Synergy. What you can do is to set an interface where your machine will be looking for or will be listening to for the other machine's request to connect. Click Edit Click Settings Use the IP address of that machine where you want it to listen or look for the other machine, type it in the box next to Interface Click OK Click Apply or Start

Dean Landon
Paul, when you say click Edit, are you referring to Synergy? So on my Server machine, do I type the IP address os the Slave machine or vis versa? Thanks!

For your server machine, type in the IP address of your server where you want your client to connect to (both client and server needs to be on that network or subnet for them to be able to communicate). Dean Landon
Thanks Paul. I'll give that a go. btw, do you know what this means? [2017-06-27T15:11:04] WARNING: unknown quartz event type: 0x1d
Paul Suarez
There are some instances when that error comes up. One example is that if you have an existing connection and one of your machines connect to another network and makes that network it's primary interface to connect to. On 6/27/2017 at 5:05 AM, Dean Landon said: Same on this screenshot. Your machines are connected via 192.168.0.x network, but suddenly connected to 192.168.1.x network and made it as the primary interface.
Dean Landon
You know how the Mac Pro has two Ethernet ports, well one port (192.168.1.10) is connected to my Orbi router. The other IP (192.168.0.1) is the other ethernet port, which the iMac is connected to. The reason for this is cause I have an app on the iMac which runs my music samples (piano, strings, etc...) and I play them off my Mac Pro. What's the best way to get rid of that warning? Thanks!
Paul Suarez
Try setting an interface for both machines first and let's check if it is still getting that warning.
Dean Landon
Hey Paul, I used the same IP for both interface and still getting the Warning message. Also one thing I noticed as of late, the slate computer keeps showing a Pasting message. Do you know what that means and how to get rid of it? Thanks!
