bigdog Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I'm using Synergy with a Ubuntu Linux system and a Windows 10 system. I'm having trouble with the cursor sticking at the transition from Linux to Windows and in while in the Windows box the cursor keeps jumping back to the Linux screen. For example I move the cursor to the Windows machine and click to activate the login screen; the login screen comes up but the cursor has jumped back to the Linux machine.
Paul Suarez Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 This is due to the User Account Control (UAC) on Windows machines that blocks Synergy. Our developers are still looking for ways on how to deviate from that Windows process.
bigdog Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Paul, does this Microsoft problem explain all of the behavior I described?
Paul Suarez Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Yes @bigdog. Alternatively, you can try to set the elevation on your Windows machine as always. This is to make sure that Synergy will be launched as an administrator on your Windows machine and could probably allow it to continue running on the background even with the UAC screens comes up. Click Edit Click Settings Set Elevate to Always Click OK Click Apply or Start Let us know how it works.
bigdog Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Thanks Paul but I don't understand the instructions; Click edit on what?
bigdog Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Paul, never mind; I made the changes you suggested and will let you know how it works. thanks
bigdog Posted June 30, 2017 Author Posted June 30, 2017 Paul, it's working much much better! Thanks for the help.
Paul Suarez Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 That's great @bigdog! You're welcome. Thanks for updating us too.
