Distro: Linux Mint 18.1 Serena

Hey @dbc. We're sorry for such inconvenience. I have done some research and have actually found out that tray support is broken on some Linux desktop environments. You can open a new issue in GitHub for it to be noted by our developers or I can also open one for you. Just provide me the following details.
