How to Limit Synergy to One Monitor on 2nd System

Hi,

I have 2 laptops connected to multiple monitors.  One laptop screen is open and connected to a docking station with 3 add'l monitors attached.  A 4th monitor displays a screen from the second laptop.  I only want synergy to cross over and work on that last screen.  The 2nd laptop has 4 monitors attached to it.  Sometimes I RDP into the 2nd laptop, would I need to shutdown synergy to avoid issues when I do this?

 

I had Synergy running on the 2nd laptop, but now want to make the 1st laptop the server.  On the old laptop synergy is complaining about a config file now and says it can't connect to the new server.

I have it working between the 2 laptops now.  But the transition from the two laptops across the final screen is very slow.  Meaning I have to keep going into the 2nd monitors screen with the mouse for several seconds before it switches into that screen.  The same goes when coming back to the server's monitors.  Is there a way to speed it up?

Can you provide us a picture or a graphical model of how your monitors are setup?
