Mac Configuration fails: FATAL: unknown screen name <my-laptop1>

I'm trying to re-configure synergy since my laptop name (network/screen name) is changed. I use the Synergy "Configure Server..." interface to update the screen name, but it looks like it still used the old screen name which doesn't exist anymore. I'm seeing this error in the log:

`my-laptop1` is the old screen name and the new screen name is `my-laptop2`

I tried uninstalling the app and installing it again but still no luck! I'm wondering where is it reading this info from and if I can remove the cached config manually.

Please provide more details about your machines (OS, 32/64 bit, Synergy version installed, connected to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, specify which one is the server). Also, post a screenshot of both machine's Synergy interface and the Server Configuration interface on your server machine.

You added omonshiz-mn2 on the server configuration interface, but it shows that your server machine is actually named omonshiz-mn1.

I'm wondering where is that coming from because `omonshiz-mn1` doesn't exist anymore and my current machine hostname is `omonshiz-mn2`.

The screen name does not actually relate to what your machine's host name is. It just follows the machine's host name initially but you should be able to edit. Right now, the best thing to do is to go to the server's Configure Server interface and edit the screen name and it should be good to go.

Unfortunately, changing the screen name in the Configure Server interface doesn't change it, as you can see in my screenshot my config has omonshiz-mn2

I see it. You should be able to double click the screen and edit that.

Was this ever answered? I have the exact same problem. My Mac was originally named Toms-iMac.local by the installer. I have since renamed it to Toms-MacPro but Synergy won't let go of the original name. I have changed the name in the server configuration screen but it still complains about Toms-iMac.local. I have no idea where it is still getting that from. This is very odd and is keeping me from being able to start this Mac as my Synergy server.

I found the problem. 

Deleting the file com.http-symless-com.Synergy.plist in /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/ caused Synergy to start the configuration from scratch and it finally let go of the old system name. There should be an easier way to do that...
