I downloaded the program on my windows pc (Server) and my macbook pro (Client). I cannot get them to connect. They are both connected under the same network, and both are activated.

Hi 903jmoney88. What specific error(s) are you getting?

There is no error code. On my macbook it shows "failed to connect" and on my PC it says Macbook has disconnected

I've got it figured out. 

Apparently you cannot use your service with a VPN. I have a VPN running on both of my computers, and it would not function like that.

Please set Synergy to Debug1 and send us a copy of the logs.
