Boomkop3 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I have a laptop and a pc both running windows 10 with the latest activated copy of synergy basic. The drag and drop function doesn't appear to work, I've tried connecting using autoconfigure and directly via ip. When dragging a file or folder to another desktop, the mouse cursor appears to lose whatever it was dragging when moving over to the other desktop.
Paul Suarez Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Hi Boomkop3. For windows machines, you can only drop files on the desktop. If you are trying to drop it on a specific location, try to check the desktop instead if it is successfully dropped in there. Let us know how it goes.
Boomkop3 Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 That didn't work, neither from or to a folder from or to the desktop, When I dragged a file from the top of my desktop past the left, it just got dropped there, on the side of my desktop. not on the other. I noticed that there is no drag drop tile or icon on the receiving side
gdawg0203 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I've had this issue too, while posting on here and doing a Debug 1 logging, it said that the file transfer failed. Might not be the same issue for Boomkop3, but hope it helps the staff figure it out.

If staff want me to upload those files in relation to this issue I'd be more than willing to.
Ben B Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I have also got this issue. I cannot drag and drop from Win 10 > Win 10, MacOS > Win10 or Win10 > MacOS. Debug log just advises the following... Quote [2017-05-05T11:01:34] INFO: switch from "Ben-PC" to "iMac.local" at 1919,475 [2017-05-05T11:01:34] INFO: leaving screen [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: open clipboard [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: close clipboard [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: ignored screen "Ben-PC" update of clipboard 0 (unchanged) [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: open clipboard [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: close clipboard [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: ignored screen "Ben-PC" update of clipboard 1 (unchanged) [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: sending clipboard 0 to "iMac.local" [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: sent clipboard size=31 [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: sending clipboard 1 to "iMac.local" [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: sent clipboard size=31 [2017-05-05T11:01:34] DEBUG: dropped bogus delta motion: -3218,+34 [2017-05-05T11:01:35] DEBUG: failed to get drag file name from OLE Any ideas? The mouse + Keyboard sharing is all working perfectly.
Paul Suarez Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Hi Boomkop3. Please set both client and server to Debug1 and send us a copy of the logs it generates while you are trying to drag and drop. Ben B and gdawg0203, please create a new thread if you have a different setup (server: Windows 10, client: Windows 10).
Boomkop3 Posted May 5, 2017 Author Posted May 5, 2017 I presume that Debug1 stands for one of the logging options, you can find the .log files as attachments below I just noticed that some files appeared on the server when dragging from the client. but instead of a Drag Drop it's more like Drag.. gone?.. then the file appears somewhere else on the desktop, as if added to the folder instead as if dragged onto the desktop Still, nothing happens when dragging from the server to the client Desktop.log laptop.log
