Running as a service - Windows

I don't want to have to launch synergy at reboot. How is the service created?  The website says that the pro versions can be run as a service but the KB, FAQ, and install documents don't show how to set it up.  Some google searches have resulted in screenshots that show a button to install the service however the latest version doesn't have that option.

There does appear to be a service created upon installation - but that is just some background helper or something - synergy isn't actually running until I manually open it up and click start.

Hi there,

What OS are you using? If you are within Windows these are the steps to check if it will run automatically.

  1. Go into Run.exe
  2. Type in services.msc and click OK.
  3. Look for the Synergy process and do a right-click and select properties.
  4. Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic, if not, change it and hit Apply then OK.
  5. Now, go back to Run.exe
  6. Type in msconfig then click OK.
  7. Go to the Services tab and click on Hide all Microsoft Processes.
  8. Look for the Synergy process on the list and that it is enabled, if not enable it.

If everything appears to be normal, let me know.
