"Failed to Connect to Server" Mac Os Running Synergy Pro

I am running two iMac, both with OS X Yosemite, one with 10.10.1 and one with 10.10.3. They are on the same network. Able to configure client and server, but they won’t communicate. Get the error message “failed to connect to server: connection refused”. Today the error message is “failed to connect to server: cannot connect socket: Host is down" I have configured the firewall to allow Synergy to accept incoming connections on both machines. Any help appreciated.

Did you try to swap "server" and "client" ?
