Drag/Drop

I recently purchased the basic version of your software so i would have access to the drag and drop feature but I am unable to figure out how to activate the feature. I uninstalled the old versions and installed synergy-v1.7.1-stable-366f813-Windows-x64 on both the server and client and logged in with my account. The server is running Windows 8 and the client is running Windows 7. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I too am equally clueless about how to enable drag 'n drop. I set to debug 1 and got the following error [code] DEBUG: failed to get drag file name from OLE DEBUG1: thread 0x00000414 exit [/code]

I have been a user for 2 years and have never been able to get the File Drag and Drop Feature to work. Some instruction and support on this would be helpful.

Same with me. I bought this software thinking that file drag and drop and clipboard would copy but no luck. I'm running Windows 8.1 on both computers though. I just found another software where the file drag and drop is very smooth and there's no jerkiness at all when you transition from one computer to another.

Thanks for nothing Tram? I'd really like my $10 back too. Rather pointless discovery but it does work when you try to drag something from the client to the server but not the other way around. Client>Server: works Server>Client: does not work (OLE BS)

This conversation is a few months old but I'm posting here in case it helps anyone. Drag and drop after a certain file size (a little less than 1K) is affected by the SSL implementation, which has a maximum chunk size but leaves it to the apps to chunk the data. There will be a lot that works better for 1.7.4, some issues are fixed already in the latest nightly builds. Maybe try the most recent build? http://synergy-project.org/nightly https://github.com/synergy/synergy/issues/4584 - this is the most important bug for current drag-drop issues in Synergy 1.7.3 https://github.com/synergy/synergy/issues/4712 - relates mostly to 4584 but there are some interesting comments https://github.com/synergy/synergy/issues/4601 - relates mostly to 4584 but there are some interesting comments If your issue is not one of these, please provide some detailed info: - exact steps to reproduce including Synergy/OS versions on server/client - the size of the data that you are moving with drag-drop (exact size if you can find that out) - what was being dragged? (image file, file in Windows Explorer, text file on desktop, etc.) - any symptoms that occur such as Synergy crashing - is problem intermittent? - any non-English involved (keyboard config, characters in file name/path, etc.)? - with at least Debug logging level enabled, what is in the logs for server and client when there is a problem?
