Windows 7 Service Won't Start

I have Synergy 1.7.5 installed on my machine and it works fine, but I'm a domain admin. I have a coworker that tried to install Synergy (same version) and couldn't because it complained about not having sufficient rights to run the service (even though he is part of the local admins). So to install we had to log on explicitly as the local administrator. However, even installing as the local admin we still are getting the error: ERROR: ipc connection error, connection refused We check the Services and it says that the service is stopped. So we try to start it but it says: "The Synergy service on the Local Computer started and then stopped." We check the error log it repeatedly says: FATAL: An error occurred: cannot create socket: Unknown error We've uninstalled. Restarted. Reinstalled. Restarted. All this as an admin. Not sure what else to try. Any suggestions?

Decided to bite the bullet and just reimage the machine. After the reimage the install worked and so did Synergy.
