This really does suck that you can't use a modern day Ubuntu version with Synergy. With that being said I really don't know how to this team makes it. I paid $30 for this niche software 5 years ago. I spend more than that on a single Friday night dinner. The amount of changes they have to keep up with across multiple operating systems and the load of crap they have to deal with from people that paid a little bit of money 10 years ago is staggering.
