2. On the server config page, check "Use existing configuration" instead of "Configure interactively". You will then need to create a configuration file, which, if I recall correctly, Synergy will give an *.sgc extension. Feel free to use mine as a starting point, see below. For reference, my screens are arranged as: Fractal Dell_laptop surface-pro-3 Hope that helps. section: screens Fractal: halfDuplexCapsLock = false halfDuplexNumLock = false halfDuplexScrollLock = false xtestIsXineramaUnaware = false switchCorners = none +bottom-

 5. I don't know if this falls under the coming features ("Tinker-y" Settings panel) or (Making the window size and elements dynamically adjustable) but I'd really like to see better position control for multi-monitor setups. I have two adjacent monitors to my main screen, but my right one is in portrait mode. So it is taller than the other two. My second computer screen is above my 1st computer's primary display. But I can't drag my mouse directly to it. I have to go to the taller screen to the right since it has the highest point of my setup. However, I'm able to move my cursor down to my main

 6. Add the ability to share audio hardware as we do with peripherals like keyboard and mouse. I am aware of other projects/API available like PulseAudio (https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/), Jack (http://jackaudio.org/) that can do audio routing through network but limited in several aspects (not user-friendly mainly). The ease of configuring synergy inspires me to have such a thing for audio hardware too.

 8. To echo the Synergy Team's response, the local computer (or the "Server" in synergy terms) will experience no extra input lag. The remote computer is based on your network connection ping speed. I've found that if you're trying to game on the remote computer, you'll want to run a patch cable between the two computers (if possible) - over WiFi, you should expect to have troubles playing games (especially FPS or quick reaction style games). You can get the millisecond ping speed by pinging the remote computer from the local computer / server. Open powershell or cmd and type

 12. @mehdi Your arrangement can be roughly represented as: MMM MMM WWW WWW WWW - ignoring the top right Windows screen for simplicity. Synergy effectively treats the three Windows screens as a single monitor, and the two Mac screens as another single monitor. So, the left-most Windows screen is effectively one-third of the "total" Windows monitor; when the cursor leaves this screen to the top, you want it to enter the right-most half of the "total" Mac monitor, and vice versa when moving down from the right-hand Mac screen to Windows. I think you

 13. Hi. I've bought Synergy just earlier today - from the first impression, works quite better than Mouse Without Borders. I've quickly bumped into a small problem though. I have two devices - a desktop computer (server), and an average-sized x86 tablet (client). Both are running an English version of Windows 8.1 32-bit. Both have two input languages - English and Russian. The problem is: 1. Switching languages (set to Ctrl+Shift, if that matters) while on the client machine doesn't work as intended - indeed, it switches the language, but if the server' language is set to English, it'll continue

 14. Hi there. Windows 10 server, Debian client. The Server is a desktop with a static address on an ethernet NIC, and the Debian client is a laptop with both wifi and ethernet through a dock both with separate static addresses. The client likes to connect to the server primarily through my wifi interface. I'd like it to only connect via the ethernet interface (which coincides with when the laptop is actually docked right next to my Windows displays. The messy solution I have is to simply block the Synergy port via an iptables rule for the wifi interface. I'd just like to have a bind to IP/interfac

 16. I am running synergy 1.13 client on osx 11.2.2 big sur with a windows 10 server. It is extremely laggy! and i get the spinning beachball of death if i move the mouse around a lot. There is no lag at all on the machine next to it that is running 10.14.6 Mojave (and is a slightly slower machine). Both are on the same wifi network. Please help

 19. It happens for me even with webpage password fields in chrome - but it needs to be foregrounded to cause the issue there. My biggest issue has been Chrome Remote Desktop, as the window might be open in the background, but if it gets logged out (as it does from time-to-time) it will show the password to log back in, and as you say, for native apps, it does not need to be in the foreground... queue WTF moment.

 20. Small addition in case anyone is not aware. There are 2 causes of this that I am aware of: 1. If there is a password entry field open on the Mac server, keypresses will not go over to the Windows client. I'm sure this is intended from a security point of view - but it would be great to have some sort of indicator so we know whats going on, but appreciate that might be unlikely. 2. Unknown. The client stops receiving keypresses the same as though there is a password field open - but there isn't one. See thread for various solutions to this one.

 21. Hi Symless, Clever product but a long way to go to make this a seamless product (yes, intended pun) : Provide an option to auto-start when booting the server and client. Use auto-config as the default option When an incoming client request is received by a server, put the name of the client in window of "denied" clients (the log indicates which clients are being denied) Allow user to drag "denied" client into the "permitted" window. Your software is case-sensitive which means the user manually putting in the client name can cause numerous issues. On MacOS,

 23. So currently Synergy 2 is not supported on most modern systems, which means I have to fiddle around with it to get it to even work on a system. You want to move to version 3, but that is not even on the horizon yet it seems. You are actively, heavily, looking for new folk to help development. So much so that you spam via newsletter to try and find someone. This paints a dire picture of the state of Symless. Maybe release the source, close up shop, go to business school and do some online courses on programming. Sorry to be so blunt, but expecting paying customers when

 25. Running from terminal using `/Applications/Synergy.app/Contents/MacOS/synergys` seemed to fix it for me. I am guessing its something to do with the way that the Synergy frontend starts the service. The different behavior could be explained by: - Different environment variables - Maybe the way the process is started impacts how Accessibility API permissions (`tcc` stuff) works. Maybe the permissions were inherited from the GUI, instead of the service.

 30. I'm having issues with my mouse freezing, and also key presses "freezing" in mid-press. In other words, sometimes the input will "freeze" for two or three seconds... and if I happened to press a key at that exact moment... it will register as having been held down until it "unfreezes." So for example. I was about to type the word "this" and then this was typed "thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhis..." instead. 37. So, the Secure Input is definitely the problem and a fair # of apps can hold onto it, causing problems with Symless as well as other apps like ShareMouse. I found a solution of how to find and kill the process causing problems by searching/browsing a bunch of forums (sorry forget where exactly I think a reddit post). In anycase, for those on the Mac who are ok with Terminal commands here's what you can do when you are using your Mac as the server (master) and suddenly your keyboard stops working on your clients (slaves) i.e. it's stuck on your Mac. Warning: if you're not comfortable typin

 38. Looking for something similar. Primarily looking to fit a monitor into an L shaped layout to complete the rectangle, At my office, I have 4 monitors: 3 on my Windows computer and the 4th connected to a Mac Mini. At home, I have 3 displays (see attachment) that consists of a 4K monitor and 2 1080 screens. One of the 1080 screens is hooked into a Mac, the other two are connected to a Windows 10 computer. Ideally I want to be able to get to the Mac screen from both the side and top of the monitors beside it.

 40. Made an account to respond with a fix. I was having this same problem until I used the OPs link to help figure it out. Extract the contents of the .deb file to a folder using the command below. Replacing the deb file name with the one you downloaded and whatever folder you want to extract to. dpkg-deb -R whateverVersionYouDownloaded.deb nameOfFolder Change into the newly created directory. cd nameOfFolder Locate the synergy.service file in the directory you extracted to and rename it to the new format. mv /usr/lib/systemd/system/synergy.service /usr/lib

On the other hand, if I find some workaround, I'll post it here as well. Oddly enough, I tried the latest install again, and I'm not experiencing disconnections. I still experience lagging though. Though if anyone can, it would help the devs if we get logs off the machines with client disconnects / lags. I'm trying to get logs now so they could find out what's wrong. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I'm not experiencing the client disconnects as before, so I can'

 47. I'm trying to see if there is a way to make my Synergy server laptop (MAC Book Pro), on my Home network, connect to my company PC also on the same network except, the Cisco client VPN is connected to my Company. It seem my company do not permit to enable 2 network connection, VPN use the wireless one but disable the physical connection, so I can't enable it. Can we use the Synergy with Bluetooth, USB or other way? What will be the performance if I try to do it through the internet? Thanks in advance for your support. Jean-Pierre Masse QC

 49. I had this issue and was able to fix it. Turn off SSL encryption settings on all clients and servers, and apply the config. Turn on SSL encryption on the server and apply. Then turn on ssl encryption on each client and apply - once you click apply, you will be prompted with a fingerprint of the SSL certificate from the server. After accepting, all was good.
