  1. As a long time synergy user (and cheerleader), I am sorry to say that I too have been tempted by the promise of 2.0, only to give up and downgrade because it does not work on my setup. The complete lack of configuration and user feedback in 2.0 is extremely frustrating and just plain bad design. There no reason to leave the user guessing as to why a program is not working. I can't believe I have to write this in 2018! After my last attempt, I decided get off the upgrade/downgrade roller coaster. I have moved on and installed another product, which by the way, has configuration screen

  2. I've used version 1 off and on for years. Love it! I installed version 2.0.10 and wondered where my configuration options have gone??!?! I understand the need to make it extremely simple for some users but there should be at least an advanced button some where. How do I know encryption is turned on? I'm sure its on by default but how do I prove that to my security team if I decide to use this at work? I guess I'm suppose to cross my fingers that it's all working like it should.

  3. I agree, I was an avid user to Synergy 1, donated several times, and jump to the chance to get Synergy 2. But this, we need configuration options! If you don't want common users to get them, ok, just, don't know, read an environment variable "YesIKnowWhatImDoingSynergy" that we have to declare to get to the configuration! It's really frustrating, because there are a billion edge cases you can't cover but used to work with Synergy 1. Give us power user options! tl;dr: STOP TRYING TO AUTOCONFIGURE EVERYTHING!!!

  4. Concur. They’ve released a feature incomplete “alpha” version that doesn’t work a good chunk of the time, and above that, they have focused on features that their customers aren’t asking for (like zero comfig). Trying to say proxy support doesn’t need any comfiguration is ludicrous. Proxy setup often needs a myraid of configuration, like servernames, ports, authentication, etc. seems someone had an idea one day “Hey, let’s make it zero config” and since then it’s been damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!

  5. I'd like to second this, not having read down to the bottom of the thread yet... I purchased v2 at 2.0.8, which did not work between my 2 macs v10.13.3(share-server) & v.10.11.3(client). I filed a support ticket which didn't really help until v2.0.9 came out... and nothing worked. I completely uninstalled and lo and behold, v 1.9 worked fine(relatively) and I could see the logs and manage things. v.2.0.10 came out and it worked for a day! then I undocked my MBP which I share my keyboard/mouse from. I get the spinning beachball when I hover the mouse/trackpad pointer over the menuba

  6. The lack of being able to tweak settings or even get into any semblance of a settings page/window like version 1 had does seem to be a step backwards. I was a happy user of Synergy 1 Pro which allowed me to tweak certain settings and configuration knobs but since version 2 it seems like you have decide that Pro is no longer an option and are treating all your users as simpletons. Who is it great for that everything is managed be the "Synergy Cloud"? Certainly not the end user since we have no access to said cloud.

  7. Why do you guys insist on making everything automatic when that's clearly a point of frustration for so many of us? I was eagerly waiting for this update since I bought Synergy 2 last December, only to realize that proxy authentication and configuration is not supported (something which I think you should mention somewhere in your page, seeing as how a lot of people rely on proxy functionality, instead of baiting unsuspecting buyers). When I contacted support about this they said the proxy support was going to be released in a few days, and they asked me if I could wait a bit instead
