  2. Another option is to use the same method as Synergy 1.x. The name displayed on the Synergy 2.x screens could be an alias, Synergy 1.x Server Configure Server... calls it Screen name and also has Alias. It does not have to be a working network name/address.

  3. I updated to version 2.0.11 - still completely non-functional. MacOS 10.13.4 on both machines. The display sometimes has a progress bar. What does that mean? I have no idea and no way to figure it out.

  4. I've used version 1 off and on for years. Love it! I installed version 2.0.10 and wondered where my configuration options have gone??!?! I understand the need to make it extremely simple for some users but there should be at least an advanced button some where. How do I know encryption is turned on? I'm sure its on by default but how do I prove that to my security team if I decide to use this at work? I guess I'm suppose to cross my fingers that it's all working like it should.

  5. I'm reverting to pre-2.0. This new version doesn't work AT ALL on my machines. You have a program that indicates, by name, that it's a configuration app, but all it does is bring up the main program which is NOTHING but blank space and rectangles representing the connected machines. Why is this? Why can't you have some config options? ANYONE using Synergy is obviously beyond a layman's level of knowledge so there's no point in taking all control away from the user!

  6. I have to agree with this. I do love your idea of ZERO config. However, when it fails, we are left high and dry. In these cases, when provided with configurability, power users can and will usually work around the issues. This is usually a win win situation. - Power users get it to work at least, and you have a reduction in support calls - Power users work arounds get you better data on localizing the problem and help you address it easier. I realize that giving config options can be like handing too much rope to hang yourself sometimes. If that is a concern, just keeping t

  7. Concur. They’ve released a feature incomplete “alpha” version that doesn’t work a good chunk of the time, and above that, they have focused on features that their customers aren’t asking for (like zero comfig). Trying to say proxy support doesn’t need any comfiguration is ludicrous. Proxy setup often needs a myraid of configuration, like servernames, ports, authentication, etc. seems someone had an idea one day “Hey, let’s make it zero config” and since then it’s been damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!

  8. As of version 2.0.10 (on Mac) I've got nothing. It had been working irregularly. When it would quit, I would bang around blindly in the UI, and usually it would come back. This time - nothing. Often just dragging the screens apart and letting them re-connect would get it going again. But not this time. I can understand the desire to keep things like proxy settings and configuration hidden, but there is an "interface" to this thing which is completely undocumented. If you're already familiar with the old product, you probably understand that the two boxes allow you to control screen

  9. The lack of being able to tweak settings or even get into any semblance of a settings page/window like version 1 had does seem to be a step backwards. I was a happy user of Synergy 1 Pro which allowed me to tweak certain settings and configuration knobs but since version 2 it seems like you have decide that Pro is no longer an option and are treating all your users as simpletons. Who is it great for that everything is managed be the "Synergy Cloud"? Certainly not the end user since we have no access to said cloud.

  10. Why do you guys insist on making everything automatic when that's clearly a point of frustration for so many of us? I was eagerly waiting for this update since I bought Synergy 2 last December, only to realize that proxy authentication and configuration is not supported (something which I think you should mention somewhere in your page, seeing as how a lot of people rely on proxy functionality, instead of baiting unsuspecting buyers). When I contacted support about this they said the proxy support was going to be released in a few days, and they asked me if I could wait a bit instead

  11. Improved multi-monitor support is my hope for synergy. If there was a way to include monitor windows(with their appropriate resolutions) into the computer sharing window it would solve all of my problems. When you have several desktops/laptops connected where some have additional monitors, it gets pretty clunky trying to traverse them all. For instance: Synergy groups monitor 1 and monitor 2 as the same monitor in the computer sharing window making a computer that I have directly underneath monitor 2 always accessible from monitor 1 no mater how I position it underneath. This is a pro

  12. Also, you can use "Scroll Lock" to temporarily tell Synergy to not switch screens while playing.
