synergy-core keeps trying to open my X display as :0. Unfortunately, my X display is actually located on :1. I edited the systemd file to add DISPLAY=:1 to the environment, and that worked. But, I am wondering if there is some sort of unexposed config, like maybe in /var/lib/synergy/synergy-user.cfg ? Since editing the systemd file feels kind of.... icky.

Portable version for linux based systems would be also great. Me and some colleagues want to use Synergy on an Ubuntu based PXE-Boot system without root permissions. Therefore a non-install version would be great.

Well, my laptop seems to want to work, but my desktop gives me the error "problem connecting to auto-config service." Back to synergy 1. This isn't stable.

JorVe, sometime the cloud connection is a little spotty. Don't immediately conclude it's the program or installation. What are your OS systems? What does your Synergy UI look like? Sometimes start/stop the Synergy service boosts it. Sometimes it a system restart seems to get it off the the ground. Then give it a few minutes before you worry. It sometimes takes up to 3 or 4 minutes. Once you are all green you are likely to be able just use it and forget it.

It is mentioned in another pinned post in feature requests that version 2.1 is "due early 2018." See the original post here.
