  1. I am a Linux fan/user always wanting to work with inter-platform tools. SYnergy 1.x was for me something new - something I can use on daily basic to make my life easier. As many others I started to participate in early access beta 2.0 version I have to say - it's one of worst experiences I've ever had. Let's start with with Synergy 1.0 - connecting two machines was not easy, strict per IP configuration (bonjour never helped), problems with different languages and chars, and almost completly lack of any decent documentation. With version 2.0 (don't give a shit about those 5 bucks, I'll l

  2. This applies to Synergy 1 and Synergy 2 users. Alongside any other troubleshooting guides or examples that Symless gives you, please follow these troubleshooting steps as they'll save time for the community members and help give those members a foundation in order to help you. 1.) Restart Synergy - I can't tell you how many times a simple restart of the Synergy process will help. If it's Synergy 2, end it through Task Manager or Activity Monitor (on macOS). On Linux, the different distros may make the termination process different (plus, I haven't used Linux in years and don't plan t

  3. Is there currently, or will there be, a way to restrict or set preference on which networks may be used for communication between hosts? Perhaps even setting primary and secondary/failover network preference? In my setup for example, I have multiple systems all running VMWare workstation or VMware Fusion. Two of the systems are laptops that are normally docked, but usually have wifi enabled so they can be picked up for roaming. Every system always has multiple IP addresses from several different subnets and vlans. Some of the IP addresses are duplicated between hosts as they

  4. Sorry you guys had such a bad experience. Obviously, you invested time and expertise. Nick says whole layers of code has been removed and rewritten to be compatible with Linux distros. Semantics aside, many of us had to drop back to version 1 and are watching for beta 5 to be released.

  6. Sure... When it comes to betas, there are always some/many instabilities. But the current version lacks on many basic features. Such a lack of basic features (buggy or not) is an alpha. Its that simple. And hey. It is ok for me. The thing is I wouldn't have tried it out if I had known that it is an alpha...

  10. Just wondering with this new improved interface are we going to see better ability to cope with multi-screen computer setups, even unusual ones, rather than just the computer grid format of synergy 1? I have a desktop setup with 2 computers and 5 screens, in one place I have the screens alternate 1/2/1/2/1 the entire setup actually looks more like 111111111 111111111/2/1/2 111111111/0/1/0 111111111 where that huge block of 1s is a projected screen, with the 0 slots open for phones, tablets, laptops and other temporary smaller screens (some that join the synergy group some that d
