Good news, I spent the last 5 days fixing this (including Saturday and Sunday). Looks good. Still not stable enough for you guys to test because of the partially implemented network layer, but I'll get it to you as soon as I can! Thought I'd share the good news!

Very true. Actually, I can forsee Synergy 1 being available for quite some time. Our objective is to get most of the Synergy 1 users over to Synergy 2 before we discontinue it. I'd hate to abandon Synergy users unnecessarily.

I confirm this issue behind our corporate proxy. Using available beta4. Recommendation: While you can try to fix this, there will always be some corner case where it won't work - you should provide alternative way of activation, e.g. email confirmation and code copy-paste. Even if all is working correctly, the F12 is just a hot-key to force that instance of Synergy to assume the role of Server. Nothing pops up, no config page shows. It just swaps Server status from one machine to another. If I understand correctly, in the final version even this will not be necessary. Synergy will auto-discern your Server from your Keyboard/Mouse activity. A couple of points. The initial configuration after installation of Synergy is coded from the Synergy program connecting to the Cloud server. It reads the particulars of each computer names, ports...etc. and configur

Peter, Just an opinion...If you are a fairly new Synergy user, don't jump right into the beta testing program. (even the completely bald still find hair to pull) You might want to 'buy in' to it for future financial consideration, but back out to the mature product and enjoy it. Learn all it can really do for you. There are active forum community support techs for you. Yes, it will be discontinued but obviously not this week, month, or maybe not this year. The version 2 will have to survive the beta program and become developed into a full-fledged stand-alone product for a while. Then the

works adequately with high sierra here. sometimes the mac will sleep. but all i do is move the cursor to the mac desktop. it will lag a little. then i assume some magic network nonsense is happening, then the mac sees network activity and wakes up, then i can log in. no issues. handles it very well. better than expected actually.

its a beta, its not feature rich. if this works you could easily implement a right-click way of doing it, but there are more important things in a beta then a tiny feature

Beautifully said. I too miss the icon in my status bar at the top of the Mac, showing it working. Because it has stuttered a few times in my testing, and I did not know if the service was the issue, or it was on the host that the issue was happening. This totally solves those thoughts. However I like the idea of remotely being able to prevent a system from interacting with another system. So the ability to right click (or command click on macOS) and choosing to disable the system, being communicated across all others on your "user" and then being able to enable it down the line would be great.

We considered releasing an interim (beta4-patch1), but we realised we'd end up undoing all the work in beta5 (since we're totally rewriting the network layer). I know, it really sucks. Both was my answer, too. I mean, in MY case specifically, I do not often want to start/stop synergy -- I am not nearly as mobile in my personal work patterns as a lot of others here, or colleagues that I have. My macbook is largely relegated to "third monitor, which also happens to be a bonus ram and CPU so media doesn't prevent my dev machine from slowing down", but having the option is fairly important to me. The price has actually been increased from the original $5 to $15 (actually $19), but you have a full Synergy 2 Pro license. You pay $5-$19, and you get access to the FULL Synergy 2 Pro license. You will be able to update to final release in November of 2017.

We're working super hard on making beta5 way more reliable than beta4. I'm confident it'll solve your issue.
