  1. Ah, so it's nothing to do with being able to change the code? It's a trust thing. I see. I think for those people who are unable to trust us, they'll have to either use the legacy UI or run the core in CLI mode. We have no intention of open sourcing our config UI for the foreseeable future. No amount of rage will make me change my mind on that. To some degree, perhaps a logical and rational discussion may change my mind in the future, but I really don't have time for one now.

  2. On linux, the server is binding to all interfaces. It also seems to be connecting to itself on any interfaces that match the client configuration. I'm sure one of the devs could explain the behavior better, but it was apparent from the word go that beta4 linux wasn't going to work well (if at all.) I've had just a little luck doing the restart shuffle to try and encourage it to luck out with the correct port, but mostly, it gets caught up connected to itself. Like I said above, YMMV. I have docker running, which adds a handful of virtual interfaces that jumbles the whole thing around--a p

  3. This should not even be a release at any level yet. It simply does not work for me. Two Macs both running Sierra can't see one another. One set as the server and still nothing. Reverting back to 1.8 also. Very strange indeed.

  4. The team is working on a significant change to the networking layer, particularly due to this sort of issue. You can expect that in beta5, but for now, beta4 is a "restart until you get lucky" build on linux. I've had some luck in temporarily disabling my wifi on the laptop. YMMV. The good news is that they're well aware of these issues and working to resolve them.

  5. I have uninstalled the beta and reverted back to 1.8 as it's still in alpha to me. I was going to get a refund but then I would have to pay the full $45 to get it later. I'll probably wait till the beta release and try that and refund if still useless

  6. I'd bet they are bought out before they go out of business. I wouldn't stress about that.

  7. I really enjoy V2 Beta. Nick - Thx for enabling it for me I don't think most are power users in the sense of sysadmins or people working in terminal/cli all day. I tried configuring v1 by myself and hated life for an hour or two until I remembered that I needed to configure the other computer monitor (under configure server). V1 works perfectly but it's definitely not targeted to the general audience. V2 on the other hand.... My grandma could set this up. The only change that I needed to make was the firewall on my Win10 computer. Host is Linux. I'm waiting until v2 GR b

  8. That's a tiny audience... if it even exists. Most people are happy to trust us and don't have time to mess around with configurations. Then there is the much smaller audience of people who don't trust us with their private IP addresses but are happy to learn how to write a config file and use a command line (we even give you instructions on how to do this). And you want me to satisfy the yet even smaller audience of people that understand what an IP address is, but don't know how to use one? We can please some of the people some of the time, but we can't please everyone. It would be

  9. This is often related to a Window's feature, called DPI scaling. You will need to disable this for Synergy, here are the exact steps: Bring up your Start menu/screen Search for and/or click on "This PC" (this is the name in Windows 8) Open the C: drive Open Program Files Open the Synergy folder Right click on "synergys.exe" and click "Properties" Switch to the "compatibility" tab Click "Change Settings for all users" (synergys can run as a different user) Click the checkbox for "Deactivate scaling for high DPI value" (above "run as admin") Click "OK" Open your Synergy ap
