  1. I really enjoy V2 Beta. Nick - Thx for enabling it for me I don't think most are power users in the sense of sysadmins or people working in terminal/cli all day. I tried configuring v1 by myself and hated life for an hour or two until I remembered that I needed to configure the other computer monitor (under configure server). V1 works perfectly but it's definitely not targeted to the general audience. V2 on the other hand.... My grandma could set this up. The only change that I needed to make was the firewall on my Win10 computer. Host is Linux. I'm waiting until v2 GR b

  2. @AU518987077 Thank you so much for your continued efforts with us here to get this resolved. I am not a member of the Dev team, merely a mod in the forums, but it is information like this that will help them to isolate the causes. You have been so incredibly detailed in the information provided. I must take the time to thank you openly here for it. If only more were able to provide this level of detail, I know our wonderful devs would be able to stamp out every issue that came the way of the users of Synergy.

  3. Yeah, that's the idea with Synergy 2. After all the beta testing is done and the product is released, a new user should be able to just install it on their computers, Synergy will connect them and your several computers become one super-system. Install, arrange the monitors and forget it. There is, however, promised some configuration pages where one can see what has happened and if necessary, do some troubleshooting. But for the vast majority of us, install it, use it/forget it. I understand the IT-minded will have some tinker-ability but the tinkering won't be required for the home user to g

  5. On what flavor of machine? Windows? Mac? F12 button or variation of Alt+F12, Cmd+F12, Ctrl+F12 How would one server control those two groups of two machines? wouldnt that be two servers? That might require two licenses and I'm not sure if that's supported in this pre-release beta 4

  6. Likely true. You could be forgiven for thinking so. As beta4 is not very reliable and the error feedback system is completely broken, it's hard for the user to know if F12 works at all.

  8. Yeah, you'll be able to configure online via the cloud config service and then run it offline from that point (in case your internet goes offline). However, when you need to make changes to your config, you'll need to go back online. Or, you can skip the online cloud config entirely and configure it manually offline from the command line interface. But the command line is really meant for people who want to tinker under the hood, as you'd need to fiddle around with IP addresses, etc.

  9. That's a tiny audience... if it even exists. Most people are happy to trust us and don't have time to mess around with configurations. Then there is the much smaller audience of people who don't trust us with their private IP addresses but are happy to learn how to write a config file and use a command line (we even give you instructions on how to do this). And you want me to satisfy the yet even smaller audience of people that understand what an IP address is, but don't know how to use one? We can please some of the people some of the time, but we can't please everyone. It would be
