  1. @Nick Bolton think you can oblige us users with this as a pinned posting? Or another of the dev team? I'll ask really really nicely. "Pwetty pwetty pweaze"

  2. Any way we can remap the meta/alt keys to be the other way around? The old version had that as a config option, if I try to manually put the lines in my config file, it just overrides it when it reloads the config alt = meta meta = alt The reason behind this option is I'm using a Windows Keyboard on my PC which is the Synergy server for my Mac, so the Alt Key on the Keyboard should be the Command Key, and the Windows key should be the Alt Key. The other option that'd be nice is the ability to stop Synergy from taking focus when I move from one screen to the othe

  3. Nevermind, found other instructions that got it to work, had to restart the service. Sorry for the hassle.

  4. Would be nice to have some sort of advanced user option that would give you access to the config similar to 1.8. There are some machines I would like to bypass the auto discovery on and point them directly to a server. (Split Tunneling reasons)

  5. Hi Nick - Similar issue here - followed the troubleshooting and was able to get both my iMac and PC status green. However the mouse is not travelling between the computers. Tried all monitor sides but nothing.

  6. Both was my answer, too. I mean, in MY case specifically, I do not often want to start/stop synergy -- I am not nearly as mobile in my personal work patterns as a lot of others here, or colleagues that I have. My macbook is largely relegated to "third monitor, which also happens to be a bonus ram and CPU so media doesn't prevent my dev machine from slowing down", but having the option is fairly important to me. I'll personally get more use out of a status icon, however you end up deciding to encode information. And don't be concerned about relating complex information through color c

  7. Looks like the Mac is the issue: [ Service ] [2017-09-20T15:43:23] debug: connecting websocket [ Service ] [2017-09-20T15:43:23] warning: tcp client already in connecting We're fixing that in beta5.

  8. Yeah, we totally messed up with Linux (because we didn't use it while developing beta4). The good news is, I'm now using Linux Mint for development and have identified the Linux bugs which will be fixed for beta5. Please email us for a refund: [email protected]

  9. Both. Maybe, green, red and amber, For On, Off and there might be a problem.

  10. There are these super cheap mini computers that draw very little power. The ones I use have Windows8 and have 2GB. They are perfect "always-on" devices and a great, simple way to display status screens (like project management software, email, monitoring screen like PRTG or slack). Then there's the raspberry pi with the official display. That's less than 100 UK pounds for a fully working touch device, which you can place below your main screen to perform management tasks... (this is why I'm really looking forward to a way to include raspberry pi's into my synergy setup)

  11. The price has actually been increased from the original $5 to $15 (actually $19), but you have a full Synergy 2 Pro license. You pay $5-$19, and you get access to the FULL Synergy 2 Pro license. You will be able to update to final release in November of 2017.

  12. I can second that, when it showed the preview tag line in my inbox, it did also say $5, but for $15 in the email itself, I don't mind paying that for it anyway.

  13. Workflows vary pretty wildly, so I feel any crucial operations app like this should have the availability of a tray icon (or menu bar icon, whatever is appropriate for the platform in question) for someone to enable (or disable) as needed for whatever it is they may be doing on whatever scheduling they may need it. And while the ideal is 'it will just work', this isn't a realistic thing to plan on. Things break. Stuff goes wrong. And having a visual indication on the tray icon that something has gone awry is an important piece of information when trying to work through the possibilities o

  14. I wouldn't care if the product was pared down, if it was stable. I don't have a problem with ambition, just call it what it is - Alpha. Don't ask me to pay for beta software and deliver alpha software and expect me to be happy about it. So the plan is to release this software in November. They have yet to fix a long-standing bug that affects quite a number of users (myself included:) https://github.com/symless/synergy-core/issues/5226 Asking new users to pay a premium price (IIRC $49) for a piece of software that isn't ready is a sure-fire way to piss people off.

  15. Hi Jet, I fully agree with the audio idea as do many others: I use scroll lock when playing games to lock the cursor on the current screen. Not sure but maybe this can be implemented automatically in a 360 degree environment.. Stuart

  16. I have no ~/.config/symless directory to symlink from and or to. This was the first install of synergy 2 (alpha) < not beta yet. Beta phase generally begins when the software is feature complete but likely to contain a number of known or unknown bugs I have to "sign in with Symless" the browser catches the URL and I get into my account and "Crickets" Nothing happening Starting synergyd lenovo P50 Ubuntu 17.04 KDE Linux martovo 4.10.0-35-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 13 07:46:59 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I strace the client and g

  17. Thanks for trying Synergy 2 beta! Please read the beta4 troubleshooting guide before posting. You may need to restart the background services a few times to get it to work. If you're still having problems, please either post your logs in a new thread or email us ([email protected]).

  18. Actually, the real reason is that several of my systems are used in multiple locations. Many of those locations I do not want Synergy (or any other thing of similar ilk) broadcasting or trying to connect to systems. The right way to give this functionality is a simple off switch, which in the present beta is not there. Like many others, I've reverted to 1.8, for a number of reasons, but this is one of them. EDIT: I would like to say that I do feel that it's unfair for application developers such as yourselves to have to work around shortcomings in macOS, but

  19. It's a great program I've been using for like...10 years which is why I'm sticking it out. But there should have been a user guide or even just a note explaining how the interface worked and that there were no menus and what to expect especially since they asked for money. As for me, I can't go without a functioning version of this software. It's become an essential part of my workflow so for now I have to go back to version 1.

  20. I have very same issue. It is not working between Mac and Windows.

  21. I too am in need of the 32 bit version. I did not realize that the 2.0 client was not compatible with the 1.8 client. That should be specified somewhere.

  22. I do think "beta" is a bit of a misnomer here, as this hasn't even reached minimum viable product, yet - it really feels more like alpha or proof of concept at the moment. I'd put a vote in for stopping calling this a beta until, at the very least, it has reached feature parity with synergy 1 - until then it's an alpha at best.

  23. I'd expect that too. If you could assure us that the Synergy 2 release version won't be Synergy 1 Now With 25% Less Features, I'd be more than happy.

  24. Hi, No worries, most of us know what beta means. And we tipped you a coffee(because 5$ can't really be called a purchase) to help you speed things up with the development cycle and maybe a small fuzzy feeling that people appreciate your work. However, you should take our feedback more seriously, because final customers, that will pay $25-$50 for the product, will be drastically more demanding. Personally, I already don't like the way things are headed: - lack of connectivity via Synergy when Symless Cloud is down, even if my machines are on the same network; - the impossibility to ha
