  1. Portability option for settings, non service/daemon, and auto connect. I work in an environment that makes me change computers and the computer has a default profile without install permissions, I would like to have static settings and move around the office while using the Synergy application. Some functions understandably will have to be disabled, some security in some businesses wouldn't be happy seeing a program querying other computer.

  2. My hostnames are `mturney-laptop` and `mturney-desktop`. When displayed in the box they are both `mturney-...` which makes them indiscernible from each other. The host box should be larger or otherwise wrap the text to allow a larger hostname.

  3. I understand the pricing for beta esp if they upgrade to full pro after release... The only problem I had with this was when I saw the email it appeared it was going to be $5 but when I opened the email it was $15... just felt mislead even though it is stilll a good deal. I wonder if there will be a lower price for upgrading for users to the 1.0 version to the new 2.0

  4. Workflows vary pretty wildly, so I feel any crucial operations app like this should have the availability of a tray icon (or menu bar icon, whatever is appropriate for the platform in question) for someone to enable (or disable) as needed for whatever it is they may be doing on whatever scheduling they may need it. And while the ideal is 'it will just work', this isn't a realistic thing to plan on. Things break. Stuff goes wrong. And having a visual indication on the tray icon that something has gone awry is an important piece of information when trying to work through the possibilities o

  5. well lets be fair you did not have to pay for it no one forced you and you could have waited until it was released. If you did not want to run software that may not work well then I would suggest you stay away from none released software regardless of if its Alpha, Beta. The whole point of pre release software is its going to be unstable and buggy and as a developer I would have thought you would know that. If you always stuck to stable software nothing would ever be achieved.

  6. i have found a way to fix it. You just assign a hotkey to unlock the cursor screen lock. My hotkey is set to alt+z. Where you can assign a function to the hotkey there is a option called "Lock mouse to screen" and you just select that and change the dropdown menu to off. That is how i fixed it. I hope it helps you

  7. Karl, The early access beta is exclusive to customers who pay for the early access. The beta is worth $19, and they are going to give you the final version of Synergy 2 Pro (worth $49) for free. These are not jokes. You are most likely being taken to the 1.8 download page because you don't have a Synergy 2 Pro beta license. The only way to get that is to pay. It's just the way it is. It used to be $5, but they had jacked the price to $19 recently. You pay now or you pay ~1.5-2x more later for a final version. Take your pick of choice, but either way, you are going to have to pay for Syner

  9. Well, I proudly announce that I've never bought a computer. Of the several I use, all were given to me (inoperable). I inherited a couple from grandkids. Let that sink in...highschool geeks coming to their grandfather for computer help and/or giving their busted machines to me. The 32bit machine has some programs I doubt I could reproduce easily. Like the Macromedia suite with Dreamweaver and Fireworks. I haven't found a graphics program as good as Fireworks for online graphics. Also the full Microsoft Office suite...2003 I think... I seldom actually need Excell or PowerPoint, but why pay

  10. Two reasons: 1. Old iMac that will not run 64 bit Windows 2. Some automation software comes pre-installed on 32 bit Windows.

  11. it's a feature I've never used. A need never presented itself. I can imagine where a task bar is, for instance, on top, and another screen is above, one might use hot corners, to make sure the transfer worked, especially if using drag & drop...maybe. I never had the need pop up.
