  1. @strom Actually we're working on that! It probably won't be in 2.0 (November), but it could be in 2.1 (will be released a few months later).

  2. There is a long way to go, to polish this program up. There is no info of any kind on how to run this software, what to do if (error), or anything. And that makes it kind of hard to use, overall i think it can be very user friendly to not have all those wierd options and settings, and to just have it working from the get go, but there have to be a start up guide of some sort. Also, there should be a way to remove former PC's from the "control" window. And last but not least, i feel like there should be more "snapping" in the "control" window, so it is easier to align different PC's.

  3. Where have you downloaded the installer from @DavidG2017?

  4. That might be due to Synergy jumping to Wi-Fi and Ethernet networks. You can set it to only use the Ethernet network. On Synergy's user interface, click Edit Click Settings Use the IP address of that machine where you want it to listen or look for the other machine, type it in the box next to Interface Click OK Click Apply or Start Set this on both machines and manually set the server IP address on your client instead of using auto.

  5. Hi guys! Wanted to let you know the Beta looks great and seems to function well so far (with a few exceptions). I'm working with a Macbook pro with Sierra and a windows 10 machine currently. Pros: Connection between the two worked flawlessly both on wired and wireless connection (once set up). Setup is simple. Design is clean. Clipboard works. Cons: The cursor disappeared for about 2 minutes on the Mac on initial setup. I seem to lose connection when the Windows 10 pc is locked. There is no access to the behind the scenes settings. If I have

  6. There's a lot of things to consider in networking. For us to check on it further, please open command prompt and type in "ipconfig /all" and hit enter. Do it on both machines and paste your results on Pastebin or Gist then post the link here.

  7. Yes, something exactly like that would show Synergy's status much more clearly — Slack's offline notification works well:

  8. @Nick Bolton Don't sweat it man, i'm just glad you're out here in the trenches, i see you and your team trying to get to everyone, and that's awesome! I'm glad you're making progress, one small thing i might like to see, is a sort of "on the fly" roadmap, a post stickied in the forum where you update with the ideas you want to implement so we get a picture of where you're trying to go with it, but that might just be me and my darn curiosity About the hidden log, i can't get it to show, but i don't know if it might be because i'm on a nordic layout keyboard, and the tilde is hidden be

  9. @TheNut Good news! We'll be introducing this feature soon! Probably in Synergy 2.1. @ivan Would having a profiles feature also solve your issue?

  10. Totally, this might have come out a bit differently, but it was NOT at all an "Fuck this im never bying yadayada" rant, i just tried to give the little ideas i have already come up with about where it could use improvement. Although it would be nice to get some help with the program not working I am not a programmer, but i have an idea about the registered PC's being server-side since i can't remove them myself, and would like a response from symless on that, and perhaps even some help, so i can keep on breaking the program for them

  11. While I agree with jjffnn's comments on the lack of polish the program has, we have to remember that this is a beta and we are working out the bugs for the programmer that would not find them on his/her own. They have a paradigm in their head as to how this works, and can't see how people would ever use it outside of that paradigm. We are breaking it and finding edge cases for them to program to.

  12. This might be very tricky @Polina since a mouse is different from a drawing pad in being an input device. Same thing goes with using Synergy with a regular computer with mouse and computer with touchscreens that can be used as input as well. But let's see what we can do about it. We might be able to find a way in the future for it to work. Though I'm not and I can't promise you anything, this feature would really make Synergy more cool if supported.

  13. I see, but if there's a chance for you to connect both machines directly using one Ethernet cable, please do. I am currently using Synergy on 2 laptops connected directly with an Ethernet cable (one end connect to server's Ethernet port and the other end goes to the client's Ethernet port as well. It actually gives me better Synergy experience since lag is never felt at all.

  14. Hi @Polina! Actually, just simply clicking the mouse on any clients (if you have multiple clients) or pressing a keyboard key triggers for it to switch roles and be the server. Try it and let us know how it goes.
