Roadworrier 0
The Synergy 2.0 download for Mac says "Universal" but it doesn't say what version of OSX is a prerequisite. Immediately on launch Synergy 2 crashes on me. I'm running OSX 10.10 Process: synergy2 [873] Path: /Applications/Synergy.app/Contents/MacOS/synergy2 Identifier: synergy Version: ??? Roadworrier 0
FWIW 1.8.8-stable works fine on my OSX 10.
Roadworrier 0
Ah, I see this is already being investigated in this thread:
Paul Suarez 107
Alternatively, you can try v1.9.0rc3. You can get it from the forms thread tagged bellow.
Roadworrier 0
Paul -- Is 1.9 compatible with v 2.0? Or do I need to use 1.9 for now for my OSX 10.10 system?
Paul Suarez 107
Currently, Since both 1.9 and v2 are only available to 64bit machines, you can't install them at the same time on one machine. Other option is to install a 32bit version of v1.8.8 since 32bit software is compatible with 64 bit machines.

(If you need any help debugging, I'm happy to...) - I think v2 and v 1.9 are not compatible with each other. Am I correct? - re: 64 bit vs. 32 bit... my 10.10.5 machine which crashes instantly on launching Synergy 2.0 is 64 bit with 16GB RAM. It is a MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012). So I don't think the comments about 32 bit are relevant to me.
Paul Suarez 107
Hi @Roadworrier. Sorry for the late reply on this. We have launched beta3 version. Can you confirm if you are still experiencing the same thing with it?
Synergy Team Nick Bolton 407 Posted August 4, 2017 Synergy Team Share Posted August 4, 2017 @Paul Suarez Actually I think he's asking if he can use Synergy 2 on one machine and Synergy 1 on the other. @Roadworrier The answer is no, I'm afraid. Synergy 2 is incompatible with Synergy 1 (both machine have to be either Synergy 2 or Synergy 1).
Paul Suarez 107
Hey @Nick Bolton. That was just for the crash issue with OSX 10.10.x machines. I was about to edit my reply to answer the second one (compatibility).
Roadworrier 0
@Nick Bolton - that was my question. Thanks for answering it. In answer to @Paul Suarez's question, I can confirm that Beta 3 still crashes on launch on my OSX 10.10 machine: https://gist.github.com/paul-suarez/e7a8ba775279858596f2bc755c70f3db
Paul Suarez 107
Thanks for confirming @Roadworrier. Our developers will try to reproduce this on Monday for them to experience it first hand and hopefully they'll come up with a fix for it. Please sit tight while we(seriously) wait for it. By the way, I added your crash logs as a gist to make the thread look more neat. Hope you'd do the same for future crash logs you'll share. But I also hope that'll be the last crash log you'd encounter with Synergy after our devs finds a fix for that issue.
Gabriel Lujan 1
I'm having the same issue and just wanted to pass along another log from my machine. Hopefully it helps. :-) I took Paul's lead and created a Gist for it: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/3c0cf802d193857466e35d2617f9ef69.
Paul Suarez 107
Thanks @Gabriel Lujan. Our developers are trying to reproduce it. They might be able to cross reference your logs to what they will be getting(if it crashes on them).
Gabriel Lujan 1
Hi @Paul Suarez, I wanted to touch base and see if there's been any development on this issue? Please let me know when you have a chance. Thanks!
Synergy Team Nick Bolton 407 Posted September 13, 2017 Synergy Team Share Posted September 13, 2017 There's no planned support for 10.10 yet, but this will be reviewed in November.
