Red Squirrel Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 Given you can't rely on distro repositories to update or keep a consistent version across distros, often the only choice you have is to install from a .deb or from source if you need to use it across different distros, as the repo versions won't match, and the versions have to match for it to work. The problem is the massive amount of dependencies Synergy seems to have. After dragging myself through the 7th layer of dependency hell, I've about given up trying to install it. So long story short my suggestion is to perhaps make a "lite" version that is a simpler install for fast deployment on multiple machines/platforms/distros without having to worry about installing so many libraries. This version could even omit certain features like copy/paste, if it makes it easier.
