paid vs opensource?

Hello,

I just purchased Synergy but before that installed the opensource version from github.

 

I was wondering is there any difference between downloading the binary from members area at the website or using the repo from github? using my key or without (unregistered) ?

 

I bought the Pro version btw.

 

Also how to make sure i'm using the encryption when entering my key?
