Automatic IPv4\v6 transitions?

I have an issue where my new corporate VPN cause Synergy to drop out. The corporate VPN software (F5 BIG-IP Edge Client) seems to switch the machine to IPv6 (If I ping my Synergy server, the returned addresses are of the form: fe60::943b:7c27:171c:29be%13) Once the VPN is dropped it returns to the IPv4 internal address: 192.168.1.142 and after a while Synergy kicks in again. So; my question is whether any forthcoming IPv6 support will cope with a situation like this; where I occasionally want to connect to that VPN without having to fall back to using the local keyboard\mouse for the duration that it is running?

There have been IPv6 patches submitted for years https://github.com/symless/synergy/pull/4154 and still has not been put into production as far as I know.
