Failed to connect to server - able to ping IP, name is right

Just purchased and tried to connect. Received "Warning: Failed to connect to server" message. I am able to ping host computer's IP, I see the client name is correct (I even deleted the client on the map, and entered a new one). I restarted both computers, I started the host first, then started the client. I've switched ports on both sides to see if that is an issue. I've opened all firewalls, stopped all intrusion protection programs, and still nothing. Is it refund time? :?:

Same thing as you, Brian. But my geekness stops before the firewall thing... I check my rooter and didn't see anywhere to whitelist the programm.

OK, I got it. It automatically configured itself to go to 192.168.x.x (look at the top of the set up window and it will list a few different IP's) from the client side. I removed that IP address on the client side and put in my IP from my server computer and hit "Start". Bing! :geek: Hooked right up. Working fine now (though mouse is a little choppy, but just a little).

Thanks. I also had to authorize the "fingerprint" of my server... Working great now! Thank you Synergy :)
