Copy and Paste URL to Thunderbird - No paste - Thunderbird only

This is a weird one!

If I copy a URL from Computer 1 and try to paste in into Thunderbird on Computer 2 - no luck.

I can paste it to other programs on Computer 2 and then copy it from there and paste into Thunderbird locally.

For example, I can use Blue Mail to compose an email. No issues pasting a URL from a remote copy.

But not Thunderbird. It's the only program that I have an issue with pasting into in this way that I've found so far.

Has anyone else come across this.

For the record, this happens across the board for Ubunutu, Mint or Win 11.

UPDATE: The issue is tied to the situation when I use the middle button for pasting on Win 11. If I right click in Thunderbird and select "Paste" the URL is pasted.

The problem persists across Linux flavours regardless of whether I right Click and "Paste" or middle click.
