Unable to use both keyboard and mice across both machines / 'use this keyboard and mouse' in screen settings

Hi Forgive me if this has been asked before but I looked in the 'differences in version 3 page' and I searched this forum for 'use this keyboard and mouse'.

In synergy 2 I was able to use both keyboards and mice across both machines. 
Upon upgrading to version three I find I now have a 'use this keyboard and mouse' in screen settings, and I can now no longer move the mouse on the primary machine with the secondary machines mouse.  

I've got to say this is very annoying and a step backwards.

Is there a way to fix this in Synergy 3?
