Brad Stowers 0
Is there a setting somewhere to that will allow the mouse to wrap around when it hits the edge of a system? What I'm trying to deal with is 2 systems, but one of them has two displays that bracket the main display. Something like this: [Sys2:Disp2] [Sys1:Disp1] [Sys2:Disp1] Using Synergy 3 RC1, I don't see any way to configure more than one display for a client, so my next best idea was to configure Sys2 such that Disp2 is on the right of Disp1 in its native multi-monitor config, and then if I could get Synergy to wrap the mouse around when it hit an edge, it would effectively work. But, it doesn't seem Syn3 has wrap-around support for the mouse? What are the odds we could see this in a future version? Thanks for any info or ideas. Richard H 1
Hi Brad, I contacted Synergy Support in April 2023 with this question. They replied: "We are considering adding a wrap option in Synergy 3, although that will probably not be available until after GA. In the meantime, it's possible to support the layout using a custom configuration in Synergy 1." I therefore did not upgrade to Synergy 3, but I believe the first version is still available to download, which I still use. Symless offered to help with the process, but I used the principle of the below solution. It works fine with my old MacBook Pro laptop between a M1 Mac mini with dual monitors (and, as you note, the monitor order reversed). https://superuser.com/questions/1381000/in-synergy-how-to-place-a-clinet-screen-in-the-middle-of-two-server-screens?rq=1 Full explanation of text-based configuration files here: https://symless.com/synergy/help/creating-text-config-files and here: https://github.com/symless/synergy-core/wiki/Text-Config#Cursor_Wrapping Cheers, Richard
Brad Stowers 0
Thanks much, Richard, I will consider downgrading to v1 and see if I can get the configs you linked to work for me. --Brad
Brad Stowers 0
Thanks again, it works great using Synergy 1. Too bad it won't work in the new version.
Richard H 1
Hi Brad, No problem, glad it helped. Hopefully, this feature will be added to Synergy 3 at a future date. Cheers, Richard
