LeoTheMartian
Hi, I have an issue named as the title using synergy 3.0.68.13 on my windows. I have it configured so the Windows is the server. Sometime two weeks ago Synergy stopped working and displayed this message. I have reached out to support but they have given a very generic instruction on uninstall and re-install Synergy 3, and no reply whatsoever for my follow-up questions. I am a relatively new user for Synergy and any help/idea that can get it working is appreciated! Copying diagnostics here: Checking binary Synergy.exe ... OK Checking binary synergy-core.exe ... Thomas Thiry
I have the exact same problem since this morning. Except for me it's synergy-service.exe that is not running and won't start. Even after a reboot, and trying to start it from command-line and as admin... It just doesn't output anything and is not running (the others synergy exe files are running though). ejbastine
Hey I'm having a similar issue, however I just recently cloned my OS drive to a new SSD (windows). I did, however, fully uninstall, remove registry entries, etc. and upon reinstalling am presented with the same issue. I tried copying the local.json file from the other machine i have running macOS, but that did not help either.

MXUNKXY
Same exact issue, knew I should have not gotten rid of 1.13 despite some of its flaws.
ejbastine
So I was able to get this working again, but this was after a fresh reset of Windows (removed all apps, kept personal settings). I made sure to remove the entire C:/ProgramData/Synergy/ directory, all registry entries, uninstalled, and then reinstalled fresh. I was solving another unrelated technical issue, so this is a bit drastic of a method to solve this issue alone, but it is what worked for me. MXUNKXY
Yeah, shouldn't have to go through all that, and I am on a mac, so the fact its happening on both operating systems is alarming. I reinstalled my previous version. Which, funny enough, once reinstalled did not have to reset up everything it remembered everything and started right back up. pepbrow
Same issue on M2 MacBook pro and windows 11. After uninstalling V3RC1, and reinstalling the previous version on windows, still didn't work. Reinstalled V3RC1 on windows. It couldn't stop the running process. I used the task manager to stop it. Install continued. V3RC1 introduces 3 processes initially, and depending on whether or not it's the server, or it may have just been for install purposes. Either way, windows is the client, and following a successful install, after all is working, windows only has the 1 synergy process running. Initially it didn't work, just showed blank interface. I manually restarted the service (daemon), which appears to have done the trick, it allowed the install to complete. Be sure to set the server, otherwise neither will see the other. Popular Post Harald
Hi, for Windows: I solved this problem by uninstalling Synergy. I also had to delete the Synergy folders in C:\ProgramData\Synergy, C:\User\***your user***\AppData\Roaming\Synergy and C:\Progam Files\Synergy. (first 2 are hidden folders) Somehow an older version saved the former IP Address in one of the config files. Nebst 127.0.0.1 there was also the old IP Address of my computer stored. (e.g.: locale.json in ProgramData\config\) After reboot and new install it worked. wbr Edited June 26, 2023 by Harald

AmYisraelChai
I don't eat or work with Apples, but I was able to resolve this in Windows by stopping the Synergy daemon, deleting the .json and .config files in C:\ProgramData\Synergy\config folder. Restart the Synergy 3 daemon. You'll have to log in and begin the config over. This worked on Windows 11 running Synergy 3 RC3, upgraded from Synergy 3 RC2. If you are having this problem you have had synergy installed before, and are adding a new computer or something along those lines, and the program is trying to use old data to connect. jon3laze
I ran into this issue after updating to RC3 with Ubuntu 22.04 as primary and Windows 11 as a client. I was able to resolve this by resetting my configuration on both devices and re-configuring them.
Chahay
I know this is an older thread, but I ran into a similar issue. I found that the issues was solved by activating the synergy on both devices using an an offline serial key rather than my symless account.
