Mac - Wake from Sleep "You have not filled in a valid configuration file" error

If my Mac Catalina client machine goes to sleep, Synergy doesn't restart when the machine wakes up. The server is also running Catalina. If I wake up the client machine and show Synergy settings, it displays the error "You have not filled in a valid configuration file for the server. Do you wan to browse for the configuration file now?".  Clicking no on the dialog starts up Synergy fine. 

Is there a way to save the preference file so this error doesn't occur?
