Connection issues when using DHCP

Hi,

I am using DHCP on my home network so every time I boot up my Mac running the Synergy server it has a different IP address meaning that the my client Mac cannot connect to it. I don't seem to be able to specify the server IP on the client. How do I best go about ensuring that my client can always connect to the server in a network using DHCP?

Many thanks in advance.

If you have DNS resolution set up, you should be able to use the fully-qualified domain name of the server instead of the IP address. Try pinging that from your client and if so, use it. If not, then you might have to set up a reserved IP address so your server stays static.
