Adam S Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I have downloaded Synergy 2.0. When the program opens it asks to me to sign in with Symless which then redirects to the website and says Login succesful you can now return to Synergy but then nothing happens with the program. It just continues to say "Sign in with Symless". What am I missing??
Paul H Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Exactly the same here under both Linux and Windows 10
Paul H Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 After logging into the Forum to report the problem (and completing my profile), I can now logon and after stopping Synergy on both machines and starting again once I logged them both on successfully it now appears to be working.
JShoemate Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I have this issue as well. Windows eventually logged in and started but my Linux box comes back with "502 Bad Gateway -- NGINX". Console on the primary box just keeps spitting out "unrecognised client name "my second box" check server config. I don't know how to even find my server config in this new interface.
betavc Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I noticed when I went to the the task manager and stopped all of the processes under synergy except for main one running, it started working. Sorry I forgot the name of the one process I ended but it looks fairly easy to spot and has a name like error or debug or something. :\
KelY Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Having same issue here - and only 1 process under Synergy. Tried stopping and restarting a few times without change. Using Opera - also tried IE - no change, stopped both programs and restarted without effect. Ran each, and both as administrator also to no avail.
JShoemate Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Update: On the secondary box, which is Ubuntu 16.04, repeated refreshes eventually got me the screen above where it says "login successful you may now return to Synergy" but the system still wouldn't launch. "ps -aux | grep syn" showed both synergyc and synergy2 executables running. Killing the original synergyc, removing the path from the "startup applications" and adding the new synergy2 path seems to have resolved my issues. Hope that helps.
KelY Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Using Windows Server so the process was a bit different, but multiple re-installs and startups later it worked - even though the setup still appears the same as before in terms of applications in the startup menu, registries etc... Now need to get my hands on a 32bit version to test on connecting the adjoining computer...
Paul Suarez Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Hey @Adam S and everyone. So sorry for the late reply on this. Have you been able to install Synergy v2 on your other machine(s) too?
Adam S Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Yes, I've downloaded on both. Same issue on both machines.
Paul Suarez Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Hi @Adam S. Can you send us a copy of the logs for each machine? You can get the logs by following the steps from that tagged thread below. Please include more details about your machines (OS, 32/64 bit, Synergy version installed, connected to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, specify which one you wanted to be the server).
Adam S Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Both machine are Win 10 64 bit with Ethernet connections. I will get logs tomorrow.
KelY Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Trying to get this up and running on a Mac - OSX 10.11.6 - same issue - I would like to note that the ability to send logs does not seem to appear until after sign in - at least on a windows box - the Mac version seems to just time out and close (or crash?), sometimes even before the browser is done loading the sign in page (which often goes to "Bad Gateway" I believe this is another thread)
Ventajou Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I've got it working! On my Windows box: uninstalled Synergy removed C:\Program Files\Synergy reinstalled Synergy On my Ubuntu box: uninstalled Synergy removed ~/.config/Symless and ~/.config/Synergy reinstalled Synergy After that, not only was I able to pass the sign-in screen but also both systems could finally find each others and connect.
Adam S Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Paul, I have tried the steps outlined to get the log but to no avail. I think you have to be logged in. I cannot make it past the screen that says "sign in with Symless". I also tried uninstalling the program on both machines and re-installing but I'm still stuck. Any other suggestions?
Synergy Team Nick Bolton Posted August 4, 2017 Synergy Team Posted August 4, 2017 Hey everyone, we're experiencing some scaling issues with the cloud config server. Please sit tight while we fix this.
Hassan Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Hello, I've just buy the synergy beta version. I have Neon 5.11 as client and Windows 10 as server (I have this configuration for years with version 1). After installation and reboot, I launch synergy in both OS and I have the same screen: Sign in with Symless, but, if I click on the link it only opens my account web page and nothing else.... On Windows 10 it is worst because the application crash when I click on the link......help !!!! Thank you Hassan
Synergy Team Nick Bolton Posted October 31, 2017 Synergy Team Posted October 31, 2017 Finally, Synergy 2 beta5 is here! Could you give it a try? Get the latest version: Synergy-v2.0.0-beta5
Hassan Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 thank you for your quick answer Nick. On Neon side, still the same: On windows side I get now bad IP after Authorize step

Hassan Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Do I have to wait a long time before having a feedback on this issue? I upgraded my version because I lose accents in v1.8 (french keyboard) with plasma 5.11.2 as client and windows 7 as server. Now with v2 it is just unusable..... Sorry to insist but I need to find a quick solution even if I have to try another soft.
Stuart Smith Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Having a similar experience here. Host: KDEneon user edition (Ubuntu base with KDE/Plasma 5 desktop). Client: Windows 7 Pro. Windows installation went fine, on initial start up, got the "Sign in with Symless" message. Clicked on it, and it seemed to work. Got a screen telling me "next Step: Install Synergy on another computer" KDEneon installation went fine, on initial start up got nothing. No icon in system tray. Attempted to configure using "synergy-config". This brought up the "Sign in with Symless" screen. Clicking on it opens my account page on your website but nothing else happens. It appears the Linux or at least Ubuntu activation does not work. Default browser is Vivaldi if that matters. Both computers have been rebooted since installation. I launched synergy-config from a terminal. Here's the terminal output: stuart@office:~$ synergy-config QIODevice::write (QFile, ""): device not open "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: install dir: /usr/bin" "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] INFO: log filename: /home/stuart/.config/Symless/Synergy/synergy.log" QObject::startTimer: Timers cannot have negative intervals "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: connecting to background service" "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: connected to background service" "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: saying hello to background service" "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: sending uid to service: 1000" qrc:/ActivationPage.qml:65:21: QML Image: Binding loop detected for property "sourceSize.height" "[ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: config ui opened, forcing connectivity test" "[ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: handling local profile screen set changed, mode=unknown" "[ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: setting core uid from rpc: 1000" "[ Config ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] DEBUG: current version is update to date" systemctl status: stuart@office:~$ sudo systemctl status synergy ● synergy.service - Synergy Service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/synergy.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: active (running) since Tue 2017-10-31 10:31:41 EDT; 24min ago Main PID: 5512 (synergy-service) CGroup: /system.slice/synergy.service └─5512 /usr/bin/synergy-service Oct 31 10:41:36 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:41:36] debug: handling local profile screen set changed, mode=unknown Oct 31 10:41:36 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:41:36] debug: setting core uid from rpc: 1000 Oct 31 10:47:13 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:47:13] debug: saying hello to config ui Oct 31 10:47:13 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:47:13] debug: config ui opened, forcing connectivity test Oct 31 10:47:13 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:47:13] debug: handling local profile screen set changed, mode=unknown Oct 31 10:47:13 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:47:13] debug: setting core uid from rpc: 1000 Oct 31 10:54:22 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: saying hello to config ui Oct 31 10:54:22 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: config ui opened, forcing connectivity test Oct 31 10:54:22 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: handling local profile screen set changed, mode=unknown Oct 31 10:54:22 office synergy-service[5512]: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:54:22] debug: setting core uid from rpc: 1000 synergy log snippet after attempting syscontrol restart: [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:57:42] debug: core process is not running, ignoring shutdown [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:57:42] debug: core process is not running, ignoring shutdown [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:57:42] debug: service log path: /var/log/synergy/synergy-service.log [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:57:42] debug: install dir: /usr/bin [ Service ] [2017-10-31T10:57:42] info: starting service...
