RoninRa
Any status on the Alt Gr switches back to host issue? Synergy 2 is useless for all that uses Alt Gr for writing @ (I lost focus writing this...) and such until this is fixed...
Arnaldo Piccinelli
I can't install uninstall Synergy 2.0.10 because the uninstaller is requiring the MSI for v2.0.1, which I do not have. I really want to try the proxy support. Please advise!!! Thanks!

Acapulco
Why do you guys insist on making everything automatic when that's clearly a point of frustration for so many of us? I was eagerly waiting for this update since I bought Synergy 2 last December, only to realize that proxy authentication and configuration is not supported (something which I think you should mention somewhere in your page, seeing as how a lot of people rely on proxy functionality, instead of baiting unsuspecting buyers). When I contacted support about this they said the proxy support was going to be released in a few days, and they asked me if I could wait a bit instead of getting a refund. I took their advice since I genuinely thought the feature was coming. It's been more than 4 months and of course I can't get a refund now, for something which I literally haven't had a chance to even try out. Now I see that proxy support is finally released (at least for Windows).... but what is my surprise when I get the following error: [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:46] debug: connected to background service [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:46] debug: saying hello to background service [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:48] warning: version check disabled, skipping [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:48] error: Reply status code: 0 [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:48] error: failed to check update: reply has error: Proxy requires authentication <<<<<---------------------------- [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:48] error: Reply status code: 0 [ Config ] [2018-04-26T15:08:51] error: Reply status code: 0 And I can't even touch the configuration because you insist on making everything automatic! (even if said automation doesn't work whatsoever). More and more it starts to look as if I just threw 40 dollars down the drain. I've been trying really hard to support you and be patient as I have a few friends that recommended you and I believe that as developers we should be more supportive of each other, as opposed to some big company. But this is getting ridiculous. Why is it that you keep on insisting on crippling your power users and prevent them from actually taking advantage of your really cool (apparently) software you created? Is there any meaningful timeline that I can expect so that I can finally enjoy my purchase? or will this be one of those features that will never get implemented and I'll be left here hanging with my useless purchase? Do you guys actually care about this or not? Because so far it seems as if this is a really low priority item since you keep coming with excuses and non-working solutions instead of actually addressing the issue we care most about: being able to configure the proxy settings, which shouldn't be something terribly difficult if you just stopped trying to make everything so "seamless" and instead focus on actually making it work and THEN making it seamless. As a last hail mary... is there a way I could still get a refund for this? I'm really frustrated by now and would like to put this behind. Ideally by being able to use my Synergy 2 Pro, but if not, then at least getting my money back so I can go buy something that does work. T. S. Collins
The lack of being able to tweak settings or even get into any semblance of a settings page/window like version 1 had does seem to be a step backwards. I was a happy user of Synergy 1 Pro which allowed me to tweak certain settings and configuration knobs but since version 2 it seems like you have decide that Pro is no longer an option and are treating all your users as simpletons. Who is it great for that everything is managed be the "Synergy Cloud"? Certainly not the end user since we have no access to said cloud.
Steven Rogers
As of version 2.0.10 (on Mac) I've got nothing. It had been working irregularly. When it would quit, I would bang around blindly in the UI, and usually it would come back. This time - nothing. Often just dragging the screens apart and letting them re-connect would get it going again. But not this time. I can understand the desire to keep things like proxy settings and configuration hidden, but there is an "interface" to this thing which is completely undocumented. If you're already familiar with the old product, you probably understand that the two boxes allow you to control screen placement. If you're not, then god help you, because they are not going to explain it. But aside from that: what does the little white dot mean on the bottom of one of the screens? Why does it change sometimes when I click on it - and sometimes changes by itself? What does it mean when there is a progress bar on one of the screens? What does it mean when the screen is green vs. grey? These things are not "automatic." The user must interact with this screen to configure the software. You're clearly trying to convey some information to the user. But it's not explained anywhere. Trying to use the product is like trying to solve the riddle of a mysterious artifact left by an ancient civilization. But we don't feel anger at the ancient Babylonians, because they're dead, and we imagine they might have explained their artifact, if they could. And we didn't pay them for the artifact. But you're not dead, and we've paid you a little something. So you must understand why people are upset as years roll by and there is no communication beyond "it's supposed to be automatic." Neither on the things that are supposed to be automatic, nor on things that are clearly not automatic. I can understand that software is hard, because I do that every day. But surely, over the course of a couple of years, you can put together 20 sentences that explain what this UI does, and what the symbols on it mean? Thanks I'd like to second this, not having read down to the bottom of the thread yet... I purchased v2 at 2.0.8, which did not work between my 2 macs v10.13.3(share-server) & v.10.11.3(client). I filed a support ticket which didn't really help until v2.0.9 came out... and nothing worked. I completely uninstalled and lo and behold, v 1.9 worked fine(relatively) and I could see the logs and manage things. v.2.0.10 came out and it worked for a day! then I undocked my MBP which I share my keyboard/mouse from. I get the spinning beachball when I hover the mouse/trackpad pointer over the menubar icon, so don't know how to fix this.... I've been a happy customer for years, but I'm very upset that v.2 just doesn't work consistently.

Concur. They’ve released a feature incomplete “alpha” version that doesn’t work a good chunk of the time, and above that, they have focused on features that their customers aren’t asking for (like zero comfig). Trying to say proxy support doesn’t need any comfiguration is ludicrous. Proxy setup often needs a myraid of configuration, like servernames, ports, authentication, etc. seems someone had an idea one day “Hey, let’s make it zero config” and since then it’s been damn the torpedos, full speed ahead! Mike Van Pelt
Synergy 2.0.9 seemed to connect seamlessly when I brought my Windows 10 laptop back up from sleep when I came into work. With 2.0.10, I often have to slap it around a bit to get the laptop and Ubuntu desktop to start communicating so I can use the desktop keyboard/mouse on the laptop. (Where "slap it around a bit" == "load up taskmanager as Administrator and kill the Synergy process and let them restart themselves.) Once they start talking, it works fine the rest of the day. I do love your idea of ZERO config. However, when it fails, we are left high and dry. In these cases, when provided with configurability, power users can and will usually work around the issues. This is usually a win win situation. - Power users get it to work at least, and you have a reduction in support calls - Power users work arounds get you better data on localizing the problem and help you address it easier. I realize that giving config options can be like handing too much rope to hang yourself sometimes. If that is a concern, just keeping the settings deep and not easily discoverable should be enough to keep out unknowledgeable meddlers out, and at the same time allow power users to better work around stuff. Acapulco
One of the things that would help a lot, in case someone from Symless reads this, is getting us Syngery 2 users a license for Synergy 1.8, even if just temporary, so we can start using the product while we wait for the proxy functionality. I understand that giving refunds is not always possible, but once that feature is added and everyone is happy we could move to Synergy 2 properly, as it was intended and drop the v1 license. I understand how hard it is to build a business (I've tried), but we really need some solutions besides just waiting for the feature to be released, even if it's just a temporary one. Pete Rabjohns
2.0.10-stable (lol). Just seems to keep hanging for me. Works for a while and then stops responding. I will be reverting back to trusty 1.9 version. I only upgraded because it was supposed to fix the wake from sleep issue. It fixes nothing, and breaks everything. Come on guys ! Give us a version we can upgrade too. I agree with the sentiment here - most Synergy users are probably Power Users. Give us a config screen/file - let us take more control over what is happening. Zero config is all well and good, but if it comes at the expense of stability and usability then you need to re-think it.

Matthew Fair
Nick and team. I've been using Synergy off and on for a few years. There have been some ups and downs but 2.0.10 has been awesome for me. Ultra stable, I can come and go with any of my laptops and the next time I sit down everything just seems to work flawlessly without having to do anything. THANK YOU! Anilp
I have been using Synergy for a number of yeas and was an early supporter of both ver 1 & 2.. I also evangelized it to my colleagues at work and home. However the lack of documentation has been a killer from the beginning.. Always been random mouse clicks and kill process's to make things work. I installed ver 2.0 and the lack of transparency on what is happening means that things are worse. Ver 2.10 has made things very unstable. I am uninstalling and going back to ver 1.9 in an attempt to get things working again. Come on Nick & team.. you can answer to user's comments above and change the automatic configuration and document..
Billy
I'm reverting to pre-2.0. This new version doesn't work AT ALL on my machines. You have a program that indicates, by name, that it's a configuration app, but all it does is bring up the main program which is NOTHING but blank space and rectangles representing the connected machines. Why is this? Why can't you have some config options? ANYONE using Synergy is obviously beyond a layman's level of knowledge so there's no point in taking all control away from the user!
