shift select not working

I've lived with this problem for years, and continue to hold out hope that this bug will be recognized and addressed at some point. Here it is 2015 already, so I'm making my annual checkup. Anybody having problem selecting text using the latest version of Synergy (though the problem dates back for years and years) on a host with Windows 7 or 8.1 (doesn't matter) attempting to select text using the shift key on a client using Windows 7? If you're like me, the client does not acknowledge that the shift key is depressed, which depresses me in turn. Some have suggested that the client, which is running Symantec Endpoint Protection, is to blame. Thoughts?
