Windows Laptop w/Keyboard and Mouse directly connected - Macbook M4 Pro as client - MB doesn't wake up

I'm running 3.2 on both my Windows Laptop and Macbook Pro. My KB and Mouse are connected to the Windows Laptop and when both systems are a sleep, only the Windows laptop wakes up. I have to open the lid on the Macbook Pro M4 for it to wake up. Any suggestions?
