Jo Rhett Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I have no idea why the status bar icons were dropped in both Linux/Gnome and Mac. In neither environment do I (nor can I imagine many others) want Synergy taking up a full dock/app tab.
stuart macmillan Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Synergy runs as a service so you don't need the app open. If you don't want to see the tab just close the app. Stuart
Brian Davis Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 @stuart macmillan I've frequently needed to open the app on either side to allow the service to connect. So while that may be true, I think the app and not the service are required for initiation to some degree.

When you open the config app, it kicks the service up the arse... so that'll explain why that's happening. We're working on fixing the service so this doesn't happen. 12 hours ago, Jo Rhett said: why the status bar icons were dropped It was a low priority feature, it didn't make the cut for 2.0, but we'll be adding it to 2.1.
